As usual hubby took a business trip and, of course, he returns to give me a clever gift. This time around I got a Zapi toothbrush sanitizer. (I don't know what he's trying to say to me. I'm a clean, white teeth, great dental health fanatic.)
But it's such a clever thing...the device, with its quirky, ninja-like mechanism "eliminates 99.9% of germs and bacteria". (No company would claim 100% - that's just a lawsuit waiting to happen.)
So, now I have a Hi-Ya Zapi! A device that I can shove my toothbrush into to kill the germs!
However, I scrutinize product packaging, especially

if it's from China. This product came with an instruction guide that included an image that was a bit different from the image on the actual device.
The 'ninja guy' on the actual product was friendly. The 'ninja guy; on the instruction guide was vicious looking with mean eyes. (See the mean eyes?)
Typical Chinese bad translation of the English language. The Chinese industry is cranking out so many products that they don't care if consistency/korrectedness is a priority.
But then again, it could be a genius move, because Americans love kitch products - I think this product is very clever, and cute!
Need I say more.
(I hope this thing actually sanitizes my toothbrush, but I hope it doesn't include lead poisoning.)

Haha, yes, that was the first thing I was thinking of too - hopefully the chinese plastic doesn´t contain any poison that makes it worse than the bacteria before!
In general, if it´s working it´s a clever idea, specially when you use it in hotel rooms..I don´t like placing my toothbrush on the edge of the sink in hotel rooms. Some people are really pigs and you never know what was placed there before..
Had to smile about the different look in the instruction guide as well :)
Do you have to full in any antibacterial liquid in that thing?
xoxo Bettina
*fill in, sorry
It might work, but you'll be ready to brush your teeth again in an hour.
I don't know HOW they do it.
Um . . . how can I put this delicately? . . . where exactly do you shove the toothbrush into the ninja in order to sanitize it? Or am I misconstruing things?
@Debra You shove the toothbrush into the head of the ninja. I know, sick, right?
@B.J. It works with some kind of anti-bacterial light, and uses AAA batteries. But who knows how well it will disinfect once the battery starts losing its charge.
Oh, and it came with a free toothbrush (how novel).
@Bob Oh, tell me about it. An I'm sure the inside of this thing is gonna get icky at some point. But I think it's a great gift.
It does have a high kitsch factor. I'm not sure if I like it or not Corey. I do think it is pretty cool that you will be able to sanitize your toothbrush.
