Last evening I was humbled. Equine, don’t you know. Hubby surprised me with tickets to “Cavalia” – an equestrian – acrobatic extravaganza akin to Cirque du Soleil.Cavalia truly gave me a new admiration for horses and how much they have been contemporaries alongside humans all along. As mammals, both species are so intertwined and there is such a special relationship between the horse and man, and the respect level is unsurpassed.
The agile horses and acrobats brought to light just how the equine/human relationship is. In our light-speed culture of today, I think we may have forgotten how a connection to other living things is all about us.‘Horsepower’ in your automobile is not the same thing. The next time you see a horse – or a dog or cat, or any other mammal you come in contact with, think about how just being at the top of the food chain is NOT enough. Were it not for those creatures great and small, we humans would be for naught.
