If you still think social media and blogs are not that effective in getting the attention of businesses, think again. Over the weekend, I wrote about how excited I was to see ‘Cavalia’, a phenomenal acrobatic human/equine theatrical show. In my post, I mistakenly referred to Cavalia as being a Cirque du Soleil show. Well, an ‘anonymous’ person who identified themselves as being from the CdS organization sent me a note informing me of my mistake. For that, I thank them. (And yes, I blushed with embarrassment.)
I have since corrected the post and have taken out the affiliation reference to CdS. All I have to say is that whatever those talented folks who are performing Cavalia are doing; they have certainly acquired the ‘halo effect’ of CdS – so they MUST be doing something right. To be akin to CdS is a feat in itself. (I can’t be the only one who has made that incorrect assumption.)
And here I thought the opinions I express on my itty-bitty blog never actually reached the ‘big boys of business’.
Just goes to show you, if you’ve got an opinion – good, bad or indifferent – BLOG ABOUT IT!
The industry IS surfing the web and they ARE watching. Your opinion DOES count, no matter how grand or wee the voice.

When you have a piece of turkey for me, I would like white meat and a bit of homemade cranberry sauce (Angelique's recipe) and some delicious gravy.
Love Renee xoxo
You are absolutely right about that! On a couple of occasions, I have complained about a couple of businesses/organizations in my blog, and within a couple of days they had responded back to me with an apology.
It does work!
Amen to that my friend.
Corey, I agree, our blogs do reach people, more than most people realize. I've been contacted by several people in relation to things I blog about. I've been contacted by two authors and people I know from other sites have found my blog and said hello.
How true! I have gotten comments before from people I was shocked by!
