Rumors have been circulating around the closest circles of the entertainment industry for the past year or so, but today it is final. Pop superstar, Madonna, has released a statement putting to rest any hearsay regarding the almost-guaranteed biggest film production in all of Hollywood history. (Possibly since the flatulence biopic about Rush Limbaugh, “Gone With The Wind”.)

Madonna’s publicist, Liz Rosenberg, announced that production has already begun on “Cougar Barbie”, a film adaptation of the iconic toy doll to continue the doll’s 50th birthday celebration. Although the timing seems a bit off since Barbie’s birthday is this year, Rosenberg says, “On the contrary, the timing is perfect. Because by the time the film wraps production in a couple years, Madonna will have her next record in the bag, her first autobiography written and rehearsals for her 837th world tour will have commenced.” This no doubt will be the biggest entertainment event since Michael Jackson’s posthumously lauded “This is It” tour film.

Although the details of the film are hush-hush, the buzz-buzz is that Hugh Jackman will play the role of Barbie’s long-time boyfriend “Ken” (although in real life a bit younger than Madge). ‘Twilight’ star, Robert Pattinson, will play “Boytoy” to Cougar Barbie. Featured appearances include Abigail Breslin as “Skipper”, Barbie’s kid sister, and Britney Spears as the vixen, “Pink-bot”, who constantly tries to steal the love of both Ken and Boytoy, in an attempt to take over Madonna’s, er, I mean Barbie’s pop throne.

Sources say Madonna has been planning her entire 25-year career around this monumental event, and it is believed that an unreleased track, “Makeup Bag”, recorded from her early days as a member of the Breakfast Club, will be the film’s theme song.

The film is expecting a Christmas release date in 2014. (Why so much time to film? Because Barbra Streisand is directing.)
